There were no historians at the time of Jesus who recorded his existence.

The omniscient writing style of the Gospels as well as the numerous discrepencies between them prove that they are not historical documents.

There are doctrinal discrepencies between the Jesus of the Gospels and the Jesus of Paul's writings. They were not writing about the same Jesus.

This relationship that you have with Jesus is based on your faith in a fictitious character.

Wake up, Marcus. We're surrounded by that blather.

I, for one, am looking for sites like this one. I might do some troll bashing here, but I'm not looking for interaction, an argument, a debate or even a neutral conversation. If I wanted that, I wouldn't be here. I assume there are liberal Xian sites that welcome dialogue with nonbelievers and keep a modicum of civility.

Right now, for me? F**k civility. Being a Christian is much more than being about a set or rules to live by or rituals to perform. Being a Christian is about having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It means believing the Bible is true and that God has given it to us to settle matters of faith and practice. It isn't about fear and it's sad that people exclusively use fear to witness. It's not the way the Bible teaches us to tell people the good news. It's good news. Not fear. You can be free of sin and death. You can become all you were designed to be - purposed to be. Through Jesus, you can be free.

Re: It's like Cancer - ExChristian.Net - Articles

Oops, that opens to the comments section, the URL to the post itself is:

http://atheismisdead.blogsp...

Re: It's like Cancer - ExChristian.Net - Articles

Webndave, et al,
As stated above I wanted to let you know that my responses are being posted at this URL:

http://atheismisdead.blogsp...

(alltimetruths.com is just someone pulling the feed from my blog)

Oddly, there was a more thorough discussion going on at the following ExChristian.net URL but the entire comments section has mysteriously disappeared and the there is now not even the ability to even make new comment:

http://exchristian.net/exch...

aDios,
Mariano

Re: It's like Cancer - ExChristian.Net - Articles

I just read the brief review of Dwaters book. That you can take to the bank, as they say.

ATF (Who wonders if his heart is broken, then what's pumping his blood around his body?)

Re: It's like Cancer - ExChristian.Net - Articles

Buffetphan: ...please tell him to leave this website and never come back here -- in whatever words you find fitting to use. Hmmm, well....for starters, you are not qualified to claim to know "the way" I am, because my participating in this blog, including, my passion when it comes to seeking to abolish legendary thinking from the face of the earth, is only one small facet of my life, thus, it would be utterly ridiculous for you to suggest that you know my entire person based on said participation. Then again, you already have a propensity to believe ridiculous things when it comes to reality, per "faith".

Notwithstanding, perhaps you are a charming, likeable individual when the discussion isn't religion/spirituality. That remains to be seen, however, because religion is precisely the topic here, which leads me back to this: Your proselytizing, under which you now make cheap attempts to show how you "love" me/us, is NOT appreciated(nor convincing). Your blatant disrespecting of the site's purpose disclaimer is NOT appreciated. Additionally, you expect us to believe that you possess this "Truth" that you believe we missed out on, while yet, your blog title, itself, is a blatant mis-truth(lie).

Repeat: "Atheism" is most certainly NOT "dead". In fact, in the very document by which you claim to know this "Truth", it assures you/us that there will be skeptics/doubters(Atheists) in its supposed foretelling of the future. Surely, even you see the conundrum this presents for the bible-believer.

You've got problems to solve, pal. I used to have the same problems, but fortunately, I got brave enough to question the cognative dissonance that is inevitable when we are asked to believe ridiculous things, in this case, the mind-f%ck known as "Christianity". Until/unless you get brave enough to question, please keep your distance.

Sincerely, boom'.

Re: It's like Cancer - ExChristian.Net - Articles

boomSLANG,

In response to MA's request to you: "if I can ever do anything for you please let me know" please tell him to leave this website and never come back here -- in whatever words you find fitting to use. And you can beat your "logical fallacy" drum until donkeys talk.....oops, they already do that in that vivid imagination of yours----okay, until donkeys fly. Until/unless you proffer some objective-confirmation for Christianity's Truth-claims, I'm not interested in your "refutations" of anything.

....and now that you learn that I am preparing a response to absolutely every comment made to me you respond with further ridicule and call for me to be banned.

I call for you to be banned because you blithely ignore the site's purpose disclaimer, which, again, states:

"The ExChristian.Net blog exists for the express purpose of encouraging those who have decided to leave religion behind. It is not an open challenge for Christians to avenge what they perceive as an offense against their religious beliefs."[bold added]

You are here DEFENDING your religious beliefs. Yoo-f%cking-hoo??? "Apologeticus"?

FYI: just because you feel an emotion of anger or hatred or outrage does not make you right.

I never said or implied that it did. The fact that >>>I<<<< see a lack of credible evidence for "god(s)" makes Atheism right for me. If Christianity is "right" for you, then fantastic---go believe it somewhere else.

As always, fu(k off, in the mean time.

Re: It's like Cancer - ExChristian.Net - Articles

Buffettphan,
Yes, I am aware.
I am responding to both so I commented the same message to both.

boomSLANG,
I am understanding correctly?
